Custom millwork,
built to fit

We design, build and install custom cabinetry and interior millwork for homes and businesses across Toronto.

At Toronto Millworks, we build custom kitchens, cabinetry, offices, restaurants and bars from the ground up. Every project is measured, milled and installed by hand, so the woodwork fits your space precisely and holds up for decades.

Built in our shop,
finished in your space.

Every project starts on the floor of our shop in Mississauga. We template from your actual walls, mill to the millimetre, and dry-fit the whole assembly before it leaves the bench. What arrives on site is finished work, not a flat pack. It is hung, scribed to the room, and left looking like the joinery grew there.

What we make

Seven kinds of work, one shop, the same way of building every one of them.

How a project runs

Four stages, in this order, every time. Skipping one is how filler strips and site fixes happen.

  1. Measure

We come to the room and template it as it really is: the lean of every wall, the fall of the floor, and the services hidden behind them.

  2. Draw

Plans and elevations show every door, panel, profile and handle. You approve them before a single board is cut, which is where changes are cheap.

  3. Build

Everything is made, finished and dry fitted in our Mississauga shop, so problems are found on the bench instead of in your room.

  4. Install

The same team installs, scribes to the walls and finishes in place, then hands back a room that looks as if it was always that way.

Frequently
asked

Straight answers on cost, lead time and how a job actually runs. If something is not covered here, ask and we will answer it the same way.

Every question we get asked

How much does custom millwork cost?

It depends on the size of the piece, the materials, the finish and the work inside it. We quote from measured drawings rather than a per foot rate, so the price reflects the actual room. A painted poplar built-in and a rift white oak kitchen are different jobs even at the same length.

How long does a custom millwork project take?

The schedule is set by four stages: site measure and drawings, approval, shop fabrication, then install. Approval is usually the stage that moves most, because it depends on how quickly finishes and hardware are decided.

Do you build in your own shop?

Yes. Everything is made and dry fitted in our shop in Mississauga before it goes to site, and the same team installs it.

Which areas do you serve?

Toronto and the region around it, up to about 120 km from our shop in Mississauga: Peel, Halton, Hamilton, Niagara, York, Durham, Simcoe, Dufferin, Wellington, Waterloo and Brant. Our service areas page lists every town.

Do you work on commercial projects as well as homes?

Yes. Restaurants, bars, cafes, offices and retail, as well as kitchens, built-ins and architectural millwork for homes.

Do you provide drawings before work starts?

Yes. Nothing is cut until you have approved elevations showing the layout, the finishes and the hardware.

Visit the shop.

Drawings, samples and work in progress all live in one building near Pearson. Visits are by appointment so someone is free to walk you through what is on the floor.
